Principal of the Year Award

The principal of the year program highlights the good things that are being done by school leaders every day, all across the state of Wisconsin. Principals of the Year are asked to share their successes and practices with colleagues in events and workshops during the year. 

The Wisconsin Principals of the Year are selected from the Principal Leadership Award winners as the elementary, middle and high school principals with the highest scores. 

Application Process and Timeline

August 
We will make available and begin accepting nominations.  

January 
All applications are due. 

March
Winners of the Kohl Leadership Award will be announced.  

April
The Elementary, Middle and High School Wisconsin Principals of the Year will be selected from the 12 OWL winners. 

December 15th (following year)
The Principals of the Year will submit their national application to NPA.
