Educational leadership requires staying on the right side of a wide variety of state, federal and local laws and regulations. AWSA members receive regular legal updates and access to legal presentations—and they may call our attorney on any job-related legal issues that may arise within their schools or districts.
Members are eligible for legal fee reimbursement for out-of-pocket legal expenses necessary to protect important legal rights. This is designed to promote effective leadership in the form of employment contract due process and public employers’ duty to defend employees who are sued while acting within the scope of their employment—among other issues and challenges.
