Force Multipliers for Your Leadership: Leveraging and Aligning Your People, Purposes, and Aims

April is a time when thoughtful principals demonstrate bifocal leadership. That is, each spring, school leaders take a set of actions that are “near-sighted" (ensuring the current school year finishes well) while also pursuing others that are “far-sighted” (organizing for success in the year yet to come).  This article focuses on the latter, equipping you with thoughtful “far-sighted” leadership actions so that next school year is your best one yet. Read more here.


Teacher Contract Renewal and Nonrenewal

The teacher nonrenewal statute only allows schools boards to enter into one-year contracts with teachers. Therefore, by law, the renewal/refusal to renew teacher contracts is an annual undertaking for administrators and it is vitally important for principals to have a solid understanding of the statutory teacher nonrenewal process. Read more here.

Transition Programs That Build Employability Skills & Community Connections

Transitioning into adulthood is a daunting task for students with individualized education plans (IEPs). The transition team at the Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) supports students and families by helping them to develop skills for post-secondary life.
