The Speaker has also launched four new task forces, including the Task Force on Protecting Children (Chair: Rep. Lindee Brill, R–Sheboygan Falls), which will examine youth mental health and the impacts of social media—issues expected to involve K-12 schools. With limited time left and little likelihood of agreement between the Legislature and the Governor, it is unlikely these proposals will become law this session. Still, they will attract attention, making it important to highlight the ongoing work of school leaders to improve student outcomes, tackle workforce challenges, and ensure student safety every day.
